Qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1968. He had a wide surveying career before setting up on his own account in 1988.
Most of his career has been concerned with the investigation of buildings and their worth. Work has been carried out for Research Concerns, Private Individuals, the Courts, Public Authorities and for Companies. He has written numerous technical articles and papers and has appeared on TV and radio.
