About 50% of the nation's energy bill is from buildings. An enormous number of ordinary houses are very energy inefficient. All properties put onto the market are now required to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Ashley Building Consultants has been providing Energy Surveys for over 15 years. Stephen Ashley is an accredited and licensed Domestic Energy Assessor, which means that Ashley Building Consultants is regularly asked to provide EPCs for property owners. Normally, the EPC is commissioned by the company putting together the Home Information Pack for the property or by the Landlord prior to a letting. However, some owners commission an EPC for their own benefit in order to help prioritise energy efficiency measures.

Normally an EPC costs £80 (no vat and no hidden extras) and is often more than covered by the savings on energy bills.
